Slightly delayed for reasonably reasonable reasons, there now follows a look back at MEGAVERSE@HUB FESTIVAL CARDIFF 2016 via the medium of WORDS, illustrated by PHOTOGRAPHS, all brought to you by the power of MODERN COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY that some have started to refer to as THE INTERNET

hub2016banner

With every year comes the August Bank Holiday Weekend, a special time when  Womanby Street  is taken over by HUB FESTIVAL CARDIFF and every available stage and indoor or outdoor space is occupied by bands, musicians, visual  and performance artists of all kinds, including those whose medium is SPOKEN WORD (presented for the third year  running at HUB by MEGAVERSE) at URBAN TAP HOUSE!!!

FUNNY!   MOVING!  INSPIRING!  BIZARRE!   SEXY!

The above exclamations are just some of the total that would be needed to fully describe the massive variety of words chosen, written down, and read, recited, rapped, shouted, whispered and sung by the following fine people, whose performance pics come to you courtesy of Fran Smith and Patrick Widdess…

MR BLUE

Though he actually performed last, Mr Blue is only 11, and if as he grows, his talents grow with him, maybe one day he will give us back the show he stole from us grown ups*, with a rap and song display that was a wonderful way to close the four hour event! We were all 11 once, and most of us would definitely not have been able to do what Mr Blue did and be a confident and impressive presence at a music and performance arts festival!

*In some cases, the term grown ups may be challenged in the Literary Courts, and proven to be only technically/biologically applicable!

AND NOW…IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE…

WILL FORD

Megaverse organiser and host, Will feels weird about referring to himself in the third person, but that aside, threw a variety of his own pieces into the astonishing mix of material performed on the day, during which Will introduced…

MR BLUE

terblue

Many thanks go out to all who brought their uniquely individual styles of words and performance to make this event what it was, a celebration of perspectives on life and the world we live in (and attempts to make sense of and/or provide entertaining temporary escape from  these things). Thanks to those who willingly embraced a short notice challenge to bring the sexy/teasing/hot/sensual sides of their creativity to the occasion…everybody delivered, and then the whole thing went and got stolen from us grown ups by the final throwdown of words and song by the 11 year old Mr Blue, who joined in as a last minute addition to the open mic section after his father, Eric Ngalle Charles, asked if his son could do some of his own stuff…

THAT’S SHOWBIZ, FOLKS!

 x x x x x THANK YOU ALL ONCE MORE x x x x x
